ADMS-COMMAND: Advanced Disaster Management Simulator

First responders arriving on the scene of an emergency make decisions that save lives. Proper training of these emergency workers is critical in limiting the loss of life, mitigating damage, and assuring the safety of the public.

Live training is essential but expensive, time and resource consuming and the types of incidents that can be exercised are limited due to environmental and safety restrictions.

Simulation is a proven methodology to meet live training experience and go beyond.

ADMS-COMMAND, the next-generation Advanced Disaster Management Simulator, is a comprehensive interactive training simulator for all-hazards preparedness, providing authentic training situations, affordably, safely, and with no environmental impact.

ADMS-COMMAND is the optimal solution for training individuals and teams at all levels and disciplines, from on-scene Incident Commanders to Emergency Operation Center personnel. Objectives trained, include: Command and Control, Coordination and Communication, Planning and Resource Management.

ADMS offers realistic environments into which participants get so immersed, that they demonstrate realistic behavior. To accomplish this, ADMS-COMMAND combines high-fidelity three-dimensional visuals and sound, a sophisticated physics engine and embedded artificial intelligence, resulting in open-ended learning situations based on real-world conditions. Trainees' commands drive the escalation or resolution of the situation.

To further engage participants, additional simulator elements like immersive visual displays, vehicle controls and cabs can be integrated into the system. With ADMS, users can grow from a single station system to a complete, high-end multi-player team training center.

ADMS-COMMAND offers a powerful learning environment and is able to present a wide variety of incident scenario types such as: building fires, industrial and transportation incidents, hazardous material releases, terrorist incidents, diseases, civil disturbances, wildland fires and other natural and manmade disasters. Beyond training, the system is also valuable for officer assessment, research, and testing emergency response plans. (Text: Training, Assessment, Research, & Testing) ADMS-COMMAND fosters a depth of knowledge, skills, and experience to help develop well-rounded and confident responders.

ADMS-COMMAND includes virtual vehicles and crews that operate exactly as real world resources. On trainee's command, virtual crews can execute real-time actions like search and rescue, investigation, fire fighting, HAZMAT response, evacuation, and casualty triage and treatment.

Like in the real world, as an ADMS simulation evolves, trainees observe the situation and make decisions. The outcomes of these decisions drive the actions, which either escalate or mitigate the situation.

ADMS-COMMAND comes with a comprehensive Trainer Toolset. Training staff can create new scenarios with the Scenario Generator and have full control over the exercises with scenario changes and on-the-fly injects. The type and degree of the incident, the location, types and quantities of initial injuries, available resources, and even the weather can all be adjusted to keep the training fresh and challenging.

After-action review tools allow instructors to replay entire incidents which are viewable from any perspective, allowing for complete situational awareness. The scoring system is structured, objective and adheres to national and local protocol. Individual decisions can be assessed and discussed supported by time-stamped action lists and recorded radio messages.

Since 1995 ADMS-COMMAND has been used worldwide at major emergency response and disaster management training institutions to enhance training quality.
Some of the organizations using the system include New York City's Office of Emergency Management, the UK's International Fire Training Centre, the Netherlands Institute for Safety, and the South-Korean National Fire Service Academy.

ADMS-COMMAND is available as turn-key installed systems, portable kits, or through on-site Training Support Services.

ADMS-COMMAND is an industry-proven solution for optimal all-hazards emergency preparedness. Training with ADMS helps minimize disaster's impact, and ultimately, save lives.
